CONTENT:
 (1) Write a description of what you plan on doing for your independent study component.
(2) Describe in detail how you think your plan will meet the 30 hours work requirement.
(3) How does your independent study component relate to your EQ?   


Independent Component Contract:
The independent component is an opportunity for you top select a direction and create your own component.  Each component must demonstrate 30 hours of work.  On the due dates, please turn in the following

·     Log of hours on a calendar
·     Evidence of the 30 hours of work (e.g. transcript, essays, tests, art work, photographs)
·     LIA

Literal
(a) Statement saying: “I, student name, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 30 hours of work.” 
(b) Explanation of what you completed.

Interpretive
Defend your work and explain how the significant parts of your component and how it demonstrates 30 hours of work.

Applied
How did it help you answer your EQ?  Be specific and use examples.

Grading Criteria (rule of 3)
·     Log on a calendar
·     Evidence of 30 hours of work
           LIA submitted to blog

Technical 
·       Activity log maintained
·       Margin note research and add it to your working bibliography
·       Each component is 30 hours, there are two components, so 60 hours

Blog 10: Self-Reflection

1) How do you think you are doing so far in your senior project and why?
P because I feel I've meet all the necessary requirements asked for.

2)What is one thing you think you have well on and why?
So far I feel I did my best on my independent component one because I already completed it and since it was a psychlogy class I successfully passed it with a B average.

3)What is one thing you would like to improve on and why?
There are a few things I wish to improve on but the most important one would be on my research. I feel that I can do a better job in the quality and amount of my research since it is the main foundation on the Senior project.

Blog 9:Science Fair Proposal

1. What is your hypothesis?
If kindergartens are taught through a certain teaching style, then they will learn better.

2. Identify the dependent (produced), independent(manipulated) and control variables in your hypothesis.
Dependent: level on acquired knowledge of the kindergarten and Independent: teaching style.
Control Variables: kindergartners.

3. What is your connection between your science fair project and your senior project EQ?
My EQ is about how or in what way is it best to become a kindergarten teacher and through my science fair project I intent to find what is the best teaching still in order for the student to grasp the knowledge best.

4.How will you perform the experiment? Include the equipment you plan on using.
I intend to find a way to get a class of aged students and perform at least 3 different teaching styles with them to figure out how kindergartens learn best.
I will need a classroom and the students with material and teaching styles for the students. I will ask the teacher to develop a test to measure understanding.

5.Which category will your project be listed under?
My project would fall under the Behavioral/Social Science category.

-I started taking a psychology class as my independent component.

- To pass the class you need a minimum of 62.5 hours so either way I will meet the requirement by completing the class.

Blog 4:Presentation Reflection

1 .In my first interview I interviewed a kindergarten teacher named Ms.Watschy and well she was that brought up the topic of Autism and how it has been increasing in kids. After that I decided to do that as my 5 min presentation.

2. The statistics of Autistic kids stood out to me, trough just a few years the numbers have increased greatly but not everyone is aware of Autism. And it stood out to me because not I knew that many kids were Autistic. It actually inspired me to start some awareness during its month.

3. The most challenging was to meet the time requirement because I wanted to give enough information to the audience but it was hard trying to make it in 5minutes.

Objective: 
The objective of my five minute presentation will be to explain what Autism is and give awareness. 

Procedure:
1) First, I will ask my classmates who knows what Autism is and by the number of hands I will know if Autism is well known .
2) Next, I will ask if anyone knows some one with autism. 
3) Then I will explain what Autism is.
4) Then, I will give statistics of Autism and other information and awareness.

1) To check for understanding I will ask if the audience now understands the awareness and seriousness of Autism.

Blog 1: Senior Project Topic

   My Senior Topic is education. at the current moment it is not specific but it relates to teaching ages K-12. I choose it because I have always enjoyed kids around me and I have actually have had the chance to teach a class of children from 4-6 years old and ever since I knew that was a future career for me. I guess I can say I have that gift with and it's not an easy job having to control and teach strangers kids but I enjoy every minute of it.

  I hope to accomplish more knowledge about kids and how they develop so I can use these methods as a real teacher. I want to also learn the psychology of these young minds so I can have good ways to control bad behavior situations or anything like it.
